Finland- cold season activities

It is the first month of spring, but in the Finnish lands, winter does not show signs of leaving. But this doesn’t have to be a bad thing because there are so many activities we can do outside until the weather is good for the beach.
For people who are very busy or who are divided between many tasks, it is difficult to do all the activities that Finland has to offer in a whole season, so it can be a good opportunity now to try new things as much as possible and as long as are available. Also for those who didn’t get the chance to travel this winter to Finland. Well, let’s talk about it today.

The first example is my favorite, the hot tub outside. I haven’t tried this yet but it’s definitely time. But from the experiences of my friends and acquaintances, it seems very nice. When it is very cold outside, sit and drink a cup of hot glögi while you sway in a hot tub. Before trying to roll in the snow after the sauna, my mind could not conceive of such temperature discrepancies. It seems like a delight to me now.

Those who know how to swim can try to take an ice bath as soon as they leave the sauna. Unfortunately, I have a water phobia and I don’t know how to swim. But it is a “sport” very common in the Nordic countries, not just in Finland. But I know that the Finns are crazy about such activities.

And to end the water chapter, another super fun activity is ice fishing. If you like to travel with friends and you want to have pleasant group memories, you should try this too. Dress well, prepare the coffee thermos, there must be a place to rent fishing equipment, and you will have dinner that you can prepare in special places for barbecue, which are almost everywhere.

I am convinced that many of my readers have not yet tried the dog sled. Quite common or most common in Lapland. It is a unique experience and a very strong reason to travel to Finland. If you set out to make a photo album with the most beautiful experiences of your life, believe me, such a photo deserves its place.

And last but not least is the snowmobile ride. You have to feel that adrenaline rush. What would be the winter or the cold season without frozen eyelashes, the blood boiling in your veins, dressed up under the eyes, and at the end of the day a delicious dinner. Sounds perfect for anyone who loves to live life to the fullest. If you are lucky you can also see the aurora borealis, a play of light and color that leaves you speechless.

The list of such seasonal activities could continue until next season, but I have chosen some of my favorites or some that I would try. Although Finland does not have mountains, it has a lot of places that you can enjoy and be worth all the money. But you don’t have to take my word for it, travel to the Finnish lands, and then leave your story in the comments. See you next Sunday with a new article, as we have been accustomed to until now, 1 PM Helsinki time.
