This summer is gorgeous and I have waited quite a long time, after the long Finnish winter this year. And just as much, I have been waiting for this vacation, in which I finally charge my batteries and fill myself with good energy for a few more months of work until the winter vacation. And didn’t I owe you the second part of my trip to Norway? That’s how I remember it.
Jessheim
In the last part of my short trip to Norway, I stayed with some dear people in Jessheim. Jessheim is a charming town located in Akershus county, Norway. Situated just 45 kilometers north-east of Oslo, boasts a perfect blend of rich history and modern-day convenience.
With its origins dating back to the Viking Age, Jessheim has a deep-rooted heritage that can be explored through its well-preserved landmarks and ancient artifacts. Visitors can immerse themselves in the town’s fascinating past by visiting historical sites like the Old Jessheim Church, a magnificent wooden structure dating back to the 13th century.
The town’s picturesque surroundings provide ample opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts to indulge in nature’s beauty. Breathtaking landscapes, lush forests, and serene lakes surround Jessheim, offering hiking, fishing, and other recreational activities.
For those seeking a cultural experience, Jessheim hosts various events and festivals throughout the year, celebrating local traditions and artistry. The community’s warmth and friendliness contribute to the welcoming atmosphere that enchants both tourists and locals alike.
Whether you’re captivated by history, or nature, or simply wish to experience the authentic Norwegian lifestyle, Jessheim promises to be a delightful destination worth exploring. Its unique combination of old-world charm and contemporary allure makes it a gem waiting to be discovered by travelers from all corners of the globe.
Despite its historical significance, Jessheim is a thriving modern hub. The town center is dotted with vibrant shops, cozy cafes, and inviting restaurants, making it an ideal place for a leisurely stroll or to savor some traditional Norwegian delicacies.
On my way to these places that I wrote about in articles, of course, I saw others that left me breathless. Even the forests seem to be different, the landscapes fill you with inspiration, that green that you don’t find everywhere and the huge lakes that seem to encourage you to dream.
This short trip the Norwegian petrarams made me sure to think if I should move to the land of trolls. An idea to “debate” in my mind.
In the meantime, I’ll let you enjoy the images, and my experiences and maybe even schedule a vacation in this wonderful country, and we’ll meet again on Sunday at 2 p.m., Helsinki time with a delicious article. Stay close.
