Doctors and many others from alternative medicine teach us that a lot of health is hidden in fruits and vegetables. I agree with them, but I think that their quality matters a lot, or which ones are healthier.
Pomegranates were considered “fruits from paradise” in antiquity. The nutritional value of pomegranate makes this fruit a “superfood”. Pomegranates can also be seen as a symbol of health.
Today I would like to show you some benefits of the pomegranate and why it is called the “magical fruit”.

1.This fruit increases libido.
Historically, people have associated pomegranates with fertility and sexual performance. Older studies suggest that oxidative stress can lead to sperm dysfunction in men and reduced fertility in women.
In 2014, researchers discovered that drinking pomegranate juice can increase sperm quality and motility (motility is the movement that sperm need to reach the egg).
2. Pomegranate slows down the aging process.
Any woman’s dream, and not only, is to stay as long as possible with young and firm skin. Well, pomegranate has the effect of slowing down the aging process. The polyphenolic compounds in pomegranates are powerful antioxidants that can delay the onset of the aging process.
3. Improves immunity.
Pomegranates are recommended for people suffering from disorders of the immune system (eg: rheumatoid arthritis); rich in vitamin C, it stimulates the production of antibodies. This fruit is very rich in anti-inflammatory compounds.
3. Pomegranate prevents cancer.
Due to the high content of flavonoids, and antioxidants with a strong anticancer effect, the consumption of this fruit prevents the development of cancer cells.

4. Prevents heart diseases.
Pomegranate juice keeps blood pressure within normal parameters, and prevents myocardial infarction and other cardiovascular diseases. This fruit has the power to prevent the formation of blood clots in the arteries and at the same time lower the cholesterol level.
5. Keep kidney diseases away.
Due to the high content of potassium, the body is protected against kidney diseases. In laboratory tests done on animals, it was found to regulate the concentration of oxalates, calcium, and phosphates in the blood, which are common components of kidney stones.
6. Regulates digestion.
In the case of digestion and not only, both the inner fruits (seeds), as well as the peel and leaves, can be used. They eliminate diarrhea and calm stomach pains.
In addition to the 6 benefits listed above, obviously, there are many more, there are also benefits for anemics, reduces arthritis pain, better oral health, reduced stress levels, preventing of the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, etc.
Consumed in excess though, pomegranate can damage tooth enamel, it is not recommended for those with arterial hypotension. In addition, increased stomach acidity, gastritis, ulcer, and enteritis are also contraindications for the use of pomegranate. We all know that anything in excess is not good, but in moderation, this fruit is full of benefits and flavor.
